Scanning with no signal (offline mode)
The scanner keeps working in a basement with no signal, as long as you picked the night before the signal went.
Before doors open, with a signal
- Open the scanner and choose tonight's event under Night.
- Wait for the pill at the top to say ONLINE · list ready, with the number of tickets and the time it synced.
- Keep the page open. Reloading with no signal stops the scanner.
The guest list can be saved from 24 hours before the event starts. Do this on every phone you'll use.
What the pill means
| Pill | What it means |
|---|---|
| ONLINE · list ready | Scans are checked live, with a backup list on the phone |
| ONLINE · no list for this night | Scans work, but not if the signal drops. Choose a night |
| OFFLINE · using list from (time) | No signal. Scans are judged against the saved list |
| OFFLINE · no list — scanning paused | No signal and no list. Nothing can be checked in |
| SYNCING · (n) waiting | Signal is back. Offline scans are being sent |
Scanning offline
A good ticket shows ADMITTED OFFLINE — NOT YET CONFIRMED with a dashed green border. Let them in. It's saved on the phone and checked when the signal comes back.
Tickets bought after the phone last synced show NOT ON THIS PHONE'S LIST. That doesn't mean the ticket is fake. Send them to the box office or check them once you have a signal.
When the signal comes back
Offline scans send by themselves. If any had a problem, such as a ticket already used at another door, a Check these button appears. Tell the owner about each one.
Limits
- Door passes can't scan offline.
- Two offline phones could both admit one ticket. It shows under Check these later.
